INSPIRING AND MOTIVATING  OTHERS

THE LIFE OF PNPA CADETS

The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) is one of the premier institutions in the country where aspiring law enforcers are trained to become future officers of the Tri-Bureau. However, the journey toward achieving this goal is challenging; it takes a lot of hard work, determination, and sacrifice.

A PNPA Cadet's life is rigorous, requiring discipline and mental and physical toughness. Cadets are subjected to a thorough training program that includes academic, tactical, and physical training.  Cadets must maintain good academic standing to remain in the program. The training involves learning tactics, customs, courtesies, and basic military skills. Cadets must learn to march, perform precision drills, follow orders, and observe discipline.

Physical training is an essential part of the program, and Cadets undergo intense physical training to develop their stamina, endurance, and strength. They must regularly pass a physical fitness test, including pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups, and a timed 100-meter dash and 3-kilometer run.

The life of a PNPA Cadet is not only physically demanding but also mentally challenging. Cadets must memorize much information, follow the rules and regulations, and conform to a highly regimented way of living. They must cope with the pressure of academic exams, physical fitness tests, and drills while maintaining a positive attitude and a strong sense of purpose.

Despite the challenges, the life of a PNPA Cadet is enriching. The rigorous training program prepares Cadets to become future law enforcement officers who can uphold the law and serve the community with honor and excellence. The training instills a strong sense of discipline, perseverance, and resilience, which will help them well in their future careers.

In conclusion, the life of a PNPA Cadet is not easy, but it is a necessary and worthwhile sacrifice. The training program prepares Cadets to become highly competent and dedicated law enforcers who can uphold the core values of the PNPA. Cadets' struggles and challenges during their training only strengthen their character and determination, making them better equipped to serve the community with honor and integrity.

THE START OF MY JOURNEY

My name is Mcheal Tawali Pay-an. I was born in the mountainous city of the Cordillera Administrative Region. I've always wanted to be a police officer or soldier since I was a kid, and I've always wanted to serve our country. When I was in Senior High School, I tried to take all the entrance exams for all service Academies: the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA), and other institutions.

I failed the Philippine Military Academy entrance examination, but it did not stop me from dreaming. Luckily, in 2017, I passed the entrance examination for the Philippine National Police Academy and the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy. I faced the dilemma of what to choose, but I decided to take the road less traveled, and now I don't regret my decision.

In 2018, I was proud of myself for being one of the takers who passed all the phases of screening required by the PNPA. Days, weeks, and months pass, and my journey has not been easy. Being a Cadet at the Philippine National Police Academy is more than being a simple college student. Before I stepped on the hallowed ground of the Academy, I prepared myself mentally, emotionally, and physically. I learned to be more independent and be on my own.

In 2019, I faced the most challenging situation as a Cadet. I was turned back for one year due to my injury, and I didn't expect it to happen as I needed to undergo surgery. During the challenging moments that were happening to me then, I felt low morale; however, that is not why I lost hope and gave up my dreams. I did my best to recover and to return stronger than before. Until now, I have been healthy and starting to brace myself as I face the next steps in my Cadet life. I found joy in learning as I work in progress, where I am slowly growing into the person I should've been a long time ago.

PNPA PAYS TRIBUTE TO VALOR 44

One of my motivations for entering the Philippine National Police Academy is the bravery and selflessness displayed by Gallant 44. Their sacrifice is a powerful motivation to uphold the principles of duty, honor, and service. The Cadetship Program in the PNPA is not an easy journey, and it requires a great deal of physical and mental discipline, as well as a strong sense of duty and service to the people.

The SAF 44 exemplified these values through their unwavering commitment to their mission and fellow officers. Their desire to put their lives on the line for the safety and security of their country is a testament to the noble ideals of faithful public servants.

They also serve as a reminder that the path to service is not always easy and that sacrifices may have to be made along the way. As a Cadet, one must be prepared to face challenges, overcome obstacles, and make sacrifices for the greater good. They demonstrated their dedication to their country, which is a continual reminder of the level of patriotism Cadets must possess.

This will continue to inspire and motivate the youths to pursue their dreams of becoming police officers. They understand that the road ahead will be challenging, but they are willing to work hard and make sacrifices to uphold the honor and dignity of the police service.

In conclusion, the SAF 44 will always be remembered as heroes who sacrificed their lives for the safety and security of their country. Their sacrifice is an influential motivation for aspiring Cadets of the PNPA to uphold the principles of justice, integrity, and service. The Cadetship Journey in the PNPA is challenging, but it is a path worth taking for those who are committed to serving their country with courage, honor, and selflessness.
